Sexual activists push for unisex bathrooms in nation’s middle and high schools
A South Burlington, Vermont, girl is asking the state to mandate all public middle and high schools to have “unisex” bathrooms. The girl, who now calls herself “Kyle,” is a transgender who publicly proclaims to be male.
Federal legislation containing unisex bathrooms has been offered—and defeated—in the past, but with a radically liberal president and a liberal majority in both houses of Congress, proponents of traditional values see another push for transgendered privileges coming.
“These bills [are] part of the transgender/homosexual agenda to create federally-protected class status for the behaviors of sodomy, cross-dressing and gender-confused individuals,” says the Traditional Values Coalition, the largest non-denominational, grassroots church lobby in America. “Not only will gender confused individuals be protected by the federal government, but so will the 30 different ‘sexual orientations’ listed by the American Psychiatric Association in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual Of Mental Disorder.”
“Kyle,” the gender confused student from Vermont, has asked that state’s Human Rights Commission to support her crusade to have boys and girls rooms shuttered and replaced with the unisex bathrooms that would allow teenage boys and girls to use the same bathroom at the same time.
Obviously, this scenario opens the door to all sorts of problems. San Francisco’s Transgender Law Center (TLC) has been pushing for unisex bathrooms with their Safe Bathrooms Access Campaign and Peeing in Peace. They define a transgender as “people whose gender identity or expression is different than the gender they were assigned at birth or different than the stereotypes that go with that gender. This includes people who identify as MTF (male-to-female), FTM (female-to-male), butch, genderqueer, tranny, transsexual, sissy boy, etc.”
According to TLC, a transgender does not have to take any steps to “correct” their gender problem. In other words, a boy or girl only has to claim to be the other sex and they will, by law, be entitled to use any bathroom they choose.
This, of course, opens the door—literally—to peeping Toms, rapists, pedophiles and other deviants to access bathrooms used by middle school and high school girls as young as eleven years old.
As the homosexual rights movement gained speed over the past few years, concerns were raised that their victory would lead to legal protections for transgenders, drag queens, and others who, a generation ago, were almost universally recognized as practicing a deviant behavior. The charge was denied. All they wanted, they said, was legal protection.
When transgenders won their legal protections, concerns were raised that they would then seek special privileges for their lifestyle. And again, the charge was denied.
A look at Van Jones, the recently resigned “green czar” of the Obama administration, gives insight into how the Left works.
“… inside that minimum demand was a very radical kernel that eventually meant that … complete revolution was on the table,” Jones said in April 2008.
Repeal sodomy laws. That’s all we want. We just want to live in peace by ourselves.
Give us civil unions. That’s all we want. We just want the same legal benefits straight couples have.
Accept us equals. That’s all we want. We just want to be accepted like everyone else.
But now we’re beginning to see the truth. It’s not about acceptance. It’s not about equality. It’s about dominance. It’s about imposing their lifestyle on the American public.
As Van Jones so aptly admitted last year, revolution is on the table.
And that revolution may soon be taking place in your child’s bathroom.
