A done deal: DOMA is going down
The fix is in.
All during the campaign, despite claiming he believed marriage should only be between a man and a woman, Barack Obama said he wanted to see the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) overturned. Since his inauguration, homosexual activists have been agitating for Obama to make his move… and I believe he is now ready.
The move by Massachusetts to sue the federal government over DOMA opens the door for Obama to fulfill his promise to his homosexual supporters. The Attorney General’s office is empowered to defend the United States from challenges to laws and, I believe, Eric Holder & Company will do so.
However, the defense will be weak… they will capitulate on some issues… and, in the end, the Supreme Court–which will, by that time, include Sonia Sotomayor–will strike down DOMA.
Obama, ever the slick politician, will shrug his shoulders and tell straight America, “Hey, I gave it the old college try.” Then he’ll give a wink to the homosexual movement that is reinventing America in their own image.
[And a sarcastic "thank you" to Mitt Romney for his singlehandedly imposing same-sex marriage on Massachusetts, thus putting them in a position to undertake this nation-changing lawsuit.]
