Augusta “Free” Press posters continue to slam me

2009 June 21

Following is a post from the Augusta “Free” Press that criticizes me. I am leaving out the poster’s name, then inserting my comments (in blue). Since Chris Graham blocked me (and several others) from his site for no better reason than that we were making logical points contrary to his beliefs, I will post and respond here.

Wow, “The Valley Truth” is so full of untruths and half-truths it ain’t funny.

One comment on the site says “Chris is confused. He’s a Unitarian, which certainly doesn’t help. He needs prayer.” What the hell is that supposed to mean? Are they slamming Unitarians? Are they saying Unitarians are confused? Do they even know the full spectrum and range of Unitarian beliefs? My guess is a big “NO.”

Actually, I do… and that’s why I said what I said.

The Bible clearly says that Jesus is “the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through” Jesus.

The Unitarian Universalist website (www.uua.org) says:

“Unitarian Universalism is a liberal religion with Jewish-Christian roots. It has no creed. It affirms the worth of human beings, advocates freedom of belief and the search for advancing truth, and tries to provide a warm, open, supportive community for people who believe that ethical living is the supreme witness of religion.”

Okay, so it “has no creed.” Their site further says:

“Unitarian Universalism is a liberal religion that encompasses many faith traditions.  Unitarian Universalists include people who identify as Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, Pagans, Atheists, Agnostics, Humanists, and others.  As there is no official Unitarian Universalist creed, Unitarian Universalists are free to search for truth on many paths. “

This is not a Christian denomination. It opposes the primary tenet of Christianity, that Jesis is the only way to heaven. They are free to believe as they wish (First Amendment!), and evangekize for their faith (First Amendment!), but those who believe in the Jesus of the Bible have the right (First Amendment!) to expose their inconsistencies.

And to call Chris anti-Christian is an outright lie.

The statement is true using the correct definition of a Christian… one who believes that Jesus is the only way to heaven. And those who believe this also believe that we are to follow what Jesus and his Discples taught, including the sanctity of life and the importance of traditional marriage.

Chris anti-bigotry and anti-hate speech/behavior.

Not sure exactly what the poster is saying here.

Some folks thrive on the negative energy of anger and feelings of persecution. That’s how “The Valley Truth” strikes me.

Some quotes from the Augusta “Free” Press:

“ultraconservative windbag”
“a shlock”
“their assault on science and reason”
“given his reputed tolerance for pharmaceuticals”
“the wingnuts “
“the lemmings “
“a Grade-A dupe at best, a shameless shill “
“it’s social conservatives who would put women who disagree with them on abortion in bondage. And social conservatives who have already done everything they can to put gays and lesbians in bondage.”

And then Graham says, “…they’re trying to silence us.”

So, AFP poster, where is the “negative energy of anger and feelings of persecution” REALLY coming from? I think the answer is obvious.
