Sean Hannity: Wrong Again
I’ve been listening to Sean Hannity for the past couple of days [disclaimer: I agree with Hannity perhaps 75 percent of the time. I believe he was wrong when he put out his ten points for conservatives and the list didn't include one moral issue. I vehemently disagreed with his near-groveling support for Mitt Romney.]
The day of the election and the day following, he kept repeating one phrase: “Let not your heart be troubled.” Hannity continued to assure listeners that conservatism will make a comeback, despite the huge defeat the Republicans suffered on November 4.
Well, Hannity is wrong . . . again. Our hearts MUST be troubled.
Why?
Because of the millions of unborn children who will continue to be slaughtered throughout the reign of Obama — the most radical pro-abort president ever. Because of the millions more who will suffer the same fate for at least a generation to come due to a Supreme Court (and lower courts) stacked with anti-life justices.
Because of the millions of children who will be indoctrinated into homosexuality [whether they actually practice it themselves or not] by the public school system that fawns over this sin. Because of the states that will forced to recognize “gay” marriage after Obama achieves his goal of overturning the Defense of Marriage Act.
Sadly, far too many Christians put pocketbook issues ahead of moral issues when they stepped into the voting booth Tuesday. In the ultimate act of selfishness, they sold their children down the river for a bowl of pottage from The One.
These Christians can offer no excuse for their votes. None.
And talk radio pundits like Sean Hannity can offer no hope for the future of America as long as they ignore the moral foundation of America.
And I want to add that Christian leaders like Pat Robertson, Jay Sekulow, and Bob Jones IV sold out moral values by endorsing social liberal Rudy Guilliani and liberal-wolf-in-sheep’s-clothing Mitt Romney.
We had eight years to prevent this. We, too, in failing to organize, to teach the biblical truths to any we could reach which underlie the absolutes we believe are foundational to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, the republic’s very existence, sold our children for a relaxing evening on the couch.
“Let not your heart be troubled…” has been Sean’s byline for as long as I’ve listened. In disagreeing with that counsel you are not disagreeing with Sean, you are disagreeing with our Lord and Master, Christ Jesus, in John 14: 1, 27 –
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me…. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
This whole section in John is most comforting and strenghthening, — which we all need right now. It was what he told his disciples (and us) right before the crucifixion as he prepared them for the awful things to come.
I have always found it very comforting and wonderful that Sean quotes that. Why the Sean-bashing now? I’ve seen it elsewhere. Do we really think we are all going to 100% agree with each other? Sean is for the most part very conservative. This is not the time to start tearing each other part.
Beebee, I’m not disagreeing with the biblical use of the phrase, I’m disagreeing with Hannity’s use of it. Do you remember when Hannity came out with his Ten Points for Conservatives? There was not one moral issue in the list. And because men and women like Hannity, who claim to be Christians and Conservatives, toss the moral issues to the side in favor of fiscal conservatism and defense conservatism, millions of unborn babies are doomed to death.
Without a good, solid, moral foundation, what good are strong borders and a robust economy? Without morals, they too shall fall.
I agree with organicpeas. There will never be peace without justice and the American sanctioned Holocaust of abortion cannot be ignored.
