Obama’s sneaky ploy to skirt citizenship questions

Remember the uproar about whether John McCain qualified as an American citizen according to the U.S. Constitution?

It was really much ado about nothing, but six Democratic senators came riding to the rescue with Senate Resolution 511, “Recognizing that John Sidney McCain, III, is a natural born citizen.”

Did the Democrats in question work for this resolution out of the collective goodness of their hearts? Or was there another reason they would appear to support McCain?

To be honest, there was no way there would ever have been a ruling that McCain was not a natural born citizen. For those who wanted to see him disqualified from running, it was a pipe dream.

SR 511 was totally unnecessary.

For John McCain, that is.

Barack Obama? Now that’s another story.

You see, there have been many rumors – which are backed by some pretty credible evidence – that Obama was not born in Hawaii as he’s claimed, but was actually born in Kenya. In fact, his paternal step-grandmother claims she was present for his birth!

Obama could easily quell the rumors by releasing his birth certificate… not that digital image posted on his website, but an actual paper and ink copy, complete with embossed seal.

But so far he has refused to do so.

Why?

Probably because his birth certificate lists Mombasa, not Honolulu.

And that brings us back to SR 511.

The Democrats were cagey when they produced this totally unnecessary resolution on behalf of McCain. They slipped in one very generic sentence: “Whereas previous presidential candidates were born outside the United States of America and were understood to be eligible to be President.”

Really? Like . . . Barack Obama?

Oh, did I mention that he was one of the six Democrat co-sponsors?

Wow, looks like Barry covered all his bases, even using John McCain as cover.

Now the question is: Will this Senate resolution hold up legally as Obama’s citizenship is questioned?
