Termo, pastor of a small church in southern Africa, is on his hands and knees far more than your typical pastor. And it’s not because he’s more “spiritual” than the rest of us.
You see, Termo was afflicted with polio as a child, and this has left him without the use of his legs. So, when he travels to and from his church—a small grass-roofed structure—he wears a pair of sandals on his hands and drags his limp legs behind him. Read more »

[info added 7/11/09 in RED]
During a recent back-and-forth with a poster, I commented that she and I had a fundamental disagreement that necessarily caused us to disagree on all related issues. The difference is that she believes homosexuality is the moral equivalence of heterosexuality.
Friends, that’s just plain wrong.
First, there’s the biblical argument. The Bible clearly teaches that homosexuality (and by this term I mean the act, not the inclination) is wrong. Homosexual apologists try to explain away the verses (”They’re talking about idol worship.”) but the fact remains they cannot come up with even ONE verse that says homosexuality is good or that it is even condoned. The fix is in.
All during the campaign, despite claiming he believed marriage should only be between a man and a woman, Barack Obama said he wanted to see the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) overturned. Since his inauguration, homosexual activists have been agitating for Obama to make his move… and I believe he is now ready.
The move by Massachusetts to sue the federal government over DOMA opens the door for Obama to fulfill his promise to his homosexual supporters. The Attorney General’s office is empowered to defend the United States from challenges to laws and, I believe, Eric Holder & Company will do so. Read more »

[from The Formers Blog]
The quote above is from U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy in reference to the high court’s decision Monday to reverse two lower court rulings against several white firefighters in New Haven, Conn. The firefighters had filed a racial discrimination suit arising from the city’s actions following a written test to determine possible promotions within the fire department.
No black firefighters — they were not the only such minorities — had test scores high enough to qualify them for promotion, but whites and Hispanics did. City officials, fearing a lawsuit from aggrieved African-American firefighters, threw out all the test scores, including Frank Ricci’s. His hard-knocks story and hard work in meriting a promotion, in accordance with the rules, caught the sympathies of many Americans. Read more »

DURHAM, North Carolina, June 30, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) – An openly homosexual Duke University official has been charged with delivering up his 5-year-old adopted African American son to sexual predators online.
Frank Lombard, the 42-year-old associate director of the Center for Health Policy and a licensed clinical social worker, was arrested Wednesday after he invited an undercover police officer to take advantage of one of his two sons, whom he had adopted with his male partner.
The Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Department and the FBI conducted the sting operation. Read more »

Make no bones about it: Mark Sanford, governor of the state of South Carolina, must resign.
And I say that not knowing whether the lieutenant governor is Democrat, Republican, liberal, conservative, or anything else. But it doesn’t matter… Sanford must resign.
First, he lied to his family and betrayed them. This is not inexcusable, but any reconciliation must be between Sanford, his wife, and their sons.
Second, he lied to the people of South Carolina. Again, this is not an inexcusable crime but the breach of trust can only be remedied over a period of time during which it’s critical that he step down.
Certain men are held to higher standards. When you preach the morality of marital fidelity, you yourself must uphold it. When you’re in a position of public authority (elected officials, pastor of a church, and so on), you are and you should be held to that higher standard.
Mark Sanford… resign the governership, then go home and work your butt off to make things right with the family you’ve hurt so badly.

Since Elizabeth Massie continues to post comments about me on the Augusta “Free” Press blog (from which I am banned for being a “hateful,” “bigoted,” “wingnut”), I am forced to respond to her false allegations here (my comments are in blue):
To clarify for anyone who thinks they understand the full spectrum and range Unitarian Universalism but does not, let me explain that there are a variety of beliefs under a main umbrella belief of respect and compassion for all humanity and an open search for truth.
– There is one truth: Jesus Christ.
There are Christian UUs, Jewish UU, agnostic UUs, atheist UU, and more. To suggest that Unitarians are confused…
– I think the fact that “There are Christian UUs, Jewish UU, agnostic UUs, atheist UU, and more” is proof enough of the confusion. Read more »

Following is a post from the Augusta “Free” Press that criticizes me. I am leaving out the poster’s name, then inserting my comments (in blue). Since Chris Graham blocked me (and several others) from his site for no better reason than that we were making logical points contrary to his beliefs, I will post and respond here.

Wow, “The Valley Truth” is so full of untruths and half-truths it ain’t funny.
One comment on the site says “Chris is confused. He’s a Unitarian, which certainly doesn’t help. He needs prayer.” What the hell is that supposed to mean? Are they slamming Unitarians? Are they saying Unitarians are confused? Do they even know the full spectrum and range of Unitarian beliefs? My guess is a big “NO.”
Actually, I do… and that’s why I said what I said. Read more »
